How Do I Kick Start My Year With Exciting New Things

17 November 2022 – 5 January 2023

Projections on Norwich Castle.

Norwich Castle will continue to play host to an incredible assortment of festive projections transforming the historic façade into a celebration of Christmas magic up until the 5th of January.  The 12th-century castle is transformed through the festive season and the projections promote significant cultural events and causes, further enhancing Norwich’s status as a city of light. A recent projection featured a brief animation honouring the Love Light Norwich festival that told the classic story of two lovebirds that sing and twirl inside their golden cages. The best place to view the castle projections includes the steps of City Hall, and Castle Meadow and it is best viewed from dusk onwards.

Tunnel of Light

With more than 57,000 LED lights, the enduringly popular Tunnel of Light located outside the forum mde a welcome return this year and continues to illuminate Norwich until the 5th of January! With even more stunning designs to enjoy this year than ever before, it is one of our favourite local seasonal attractions. Every year it attracts thousands of visitors and contributes to a significant boost in city centre foot traffic as it is truly a spectacle to behold.

Creative Cafe January

The creative Cafe is exactly as it sounds. A meet-up of like-minded creative individuals at Norwich Theatre for informal gatherings in the Café. It is a place to enjoy being creative, try something new, or just get out and meet new people.  On the second and fourth Monday of every month, the Creative Café community gathers in the city centre to share ideas, enjoy refreshments and participate in a variety of creative activities led by a variety of experienced practitioners.

Sister Act – A divine musical comedy

The eagerly awaited brand-new London-based production of the Broadway and UK blockbuster hit musical Sister Act is finally landing at the Norwich Theatre this January. The show plays host to a magnificent cast that includes Hairspray and Emmerdale icon Sandra Marvin as Deloris, everyone’s favourite nun on the run, and West End veteran Lizzie Bea.This heavenly musical features original music by Tony Award-winning and eight-time Oscar Award winner Alan Menken (Disney’s Aladdin, Enchanted). Sister Act is n exciting musical that consistently uplifts the mood and soothes the soul.

Veganuary Street Food Carnival 2023

This January, Namaste Village Restaurant are creating a fantastic experience by emulating an Indian carnival in their sizable restaurant space. If you are a fan of Indian cuisine then this vegan festival should not be missed. There will be a variety of carnival activities as well as a wide range of stalls offering the best Indian street food. The admission cost of £4 entitles you to access the day’s activities and coupons in denominations of £5, £2 & £1 are available from the counter and can be used for payments at the stalls of your choice.

The Norwich Vintage Kilo sale is surely the biggest vintage sale you’ll ever see. Discos for Grown ups pop-up 70s, 80s and 90s disco

The DISCO FOR GROWNUPS will return to Norwich’s St Andrews Hall on January 20th 2023 due to popular demand. DISCO FOR GROWN-UPS is returning for more retro fun following their previous sell-out event!  So get ready for a memorable boogie night, with lots of sparkly fun and an awesome night of dancing with others your own age!

The event will play host to all the best disco, soul, and feel-good pop songs from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Free glow sticks and vintage candy will be provided and Doors open 7.15pm, dancing from 8.00pm to 11.30pm.
