1. The Belgian Monk

Its menu of draft beers and bottles is constantly being updated and the Northern French cuisine on offer is some of the best in the city.

The Belgium Monk exudes authenticity and the new owners, have already improved the menu and brought other Flemish dishes to the UK. The location boasts a stunning undercover heated patio area decorated with Belgian beer memorabilia and trinkets. 2. The Maids Head Hotel

It’s that time of year when the Maids Head Hotel transforms its courtyard into a beautiful sparkling winter wonderland. Fairy lights, seasonal foliage and decorations adorn the heated courtyard at this prestigious hotel in Norwich making the area a festive sight to behold. This heated, sheltered area looks amazing and there are also blankets and hot water bottles available if you want to feel extra cosy.  

Mulled wine, hot toddy’s and Bailey’s hot chocolate are all available and of course mince pies and stunning cakes.  The Christmas menu includes baked camembert with antipasti, caramelised red onion and roast turkey in a brioche bun with coleslaw and skinny chips. There is also a multitude of events planned over the festive season including wreath making and a murder mystery event.

3. The Black Horse

For over 300 years, the stunning red-brick public house,  The Black Horse has stood, nestled in the heart of the Golden Triangle in Norwich. The building was built in 1714, and since opening the pub has traded under the same name. In late 2015 the pub saw major renovation work and some much-needed love and attention was finally given to this wonderful building. 

Once used as a bowling green in Victorian times the pub garden offers plenty of outdoor space with a heated marquee and covered pergola decorated with foliage. The Black Horse is a relaxed dog-friendly pub and bar serving an eclectic selection of craft beer, real ales, cocktails, bottled beers and fine wines as well as offering substantial meals in the restaurant. 

4. The Last Pub Standing

The Last Pub Standing gets its name from when the effects of the 1904 Licensing Act, Second World War and a multitude of social and economical factors led to a marked decline in the number of public houses in Norwich. King Street alone fell from 58 pubs to just 1, The Last Pub Standing.

The garden area has been developed to accommodate a stage and seating as well as a marquee. The venue also boasts a stunning tropical garden that is undercover and heated. Regular DJ’s and live music performances are sure to keep you entertained as well as lots of events and offers as well as authentic Caribbean food and burgers served by Norwich Soul Kitchen.

The William & Florence boasts stunning natural light, and large sofas mean you can enjoy your time at the bar in comfort. The pub features a large, sheltered garden where you can catch the sunshine or relax under the dimly lit ambience at night! The menu offers tasty mains and sharing plates, including cheese fondue and tables at the front f the building is sheltered by a canopy with individual table heaters so you’ll be nice and cosy.
